Telling the Boss
Most pregnancies are today so planned that women are able to deliver their babies at a time where there is relative peace at the office and there is no need to scamper back to work immediately.
- Once pregnancy is confirmed, make sure you tell your boss so that she understands when you are likely to go on maternity leave.
- If you have been long enough in the company, you could also ask whether you can leave a little early so that you beat the rush hour.
- If your kind of work allows it, find out whether it is possible for you to work from home or work part time on the days that you are feeling tired.
- Make sure that your seating arrangement is comfortable.
- Don't let your legs hang in mid-air for a long time.
- Get yourself cushions so that your lower back rests while you work.
- Keep walking in between you work.
You owe it to yourself, your family and your child to remain healthy!
