After having worked in the BPO for more than a year now, I understand what my mother used to mean when she said, “Learn to adjust at home; then things won't be so bad when you go out into the world." I always felt that the work environment would be very professional and there would be no quarrels or room for emotions. I find that it is quite the opposite. Right from who gets what shift, to who handled what calls, there is a comparison and sometimes resentment. One feels so overburdened by all these emotions at the end of the day. I go home and wonder what the hell I am doing in life. But then, the money is good and I need the money. I keep wondering whether I have to change my attitude towards my work and learn to enjoy it. Perhaps then, I will start looking at the positive side of the work. Is this what they call professional skills? The ability to view things objectively?
